What is DXF Reader GT?
DXF Reader GT is the quickest way to convert, or extract, CAD style DXF drawings into a list of data points and objects. Once extracted data can be used to create XYZ files, data list, data points, or organize the data into a list of all points, objects and layers.
With DXF Reader GT you can read all of the data points inside a DXF in an XYZ format without using or having any experience in CAD!
How to extract data from DXF files
Simply load in your DXF file into DXF Reader GT and the program will produce an editable text block for you to view your data. The data can then be exported into either a TEXT file, CSV delimited, or (new to version 2) directly into an Excel tabbed data table with all of your objects, layers, data, text, shapes, and X Y Z values included. Version 2 will also have the ability to link with Excel Draw v6 and onward! Excel Draw version 6 will come with a copy of DXF Reader GT bundled with the product. Why use DXF Reader GT?
It is true that other readers are available online, but DXF Reader GT offers something the others do not; The security of local, offline conversions. Other converters require you to upload your DXF document into their online database so it can be converted. Only after you upload your document is it converted, allowing you to download it after their servers process it. And most of the time, they only give you part of the data, not all of it.
Not only is DXF Reader GT secure, but it also gathers all data present in the Layer, X1, Y1, Z1, X2, Y2, Z2 fields. You can quickly gather your data without the need of AutoCAD or any other products.
